The Record by Recorded Future documents the darkest corners of the web. We are building the premier cybersecurity news publication that unflinchingly reports on hackers, defenders, and policymakers that lead the conversation in this fast-changing field. We are seeking a creative and motivated intern to join the team this winter to help with a ransomware research project.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with journalists and threat intelligence analysts to collect data on ransomware attacks
  • Collect ransomware data from the Recorded Future platform, open source research, and by filing FOIA requests
  • Help update and maintain a running feature, and tracker, on ransomware trends
  • Support other ransomware-focused research projects as needed

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong writing skills
  • Excellent communication
  • Experience conducting thorough research
  • Able to build spreadsheets and charts
  • Exposure to/understanding of cybersecurity concepts
