Emily Shelton has a diverse work experience in the mental health field. Emily is currently working as an Outpatient Mental Health Primary Therapist II at Recovery Centers of America since May 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Therapist at Clarity Clinic starting in September 2021. Emily also worked as a Therapist at Cerebral from July 2021 to January 2022.

Before their current roles, Emily held various positions at Sertoma Centre, Inc. from August 2018 to September 2021, including Community Services Coordinator/CMHC Housing Administrator, Crisis Stabilization Supervisor, and QMHP. Additionally, they worked as an RBT Therapist at Total Spectrum, LLC from October 2017 to August 2018.

Emily gained experience as an Intern at Therapy Works from September 2017 to April 2018, where they provided individual mental health treatment, conducted intakes, created treatment plans, and facilitated a women's group at a recovery home. Emily also worked as a Behavioral Health Technician at Campagna Academy from July 2015 to March 2017, supporting adolescents in the IDD program with behavioral issues and conducting group therapy sessions.

Furthermore, Emily worked as a Developmental Trainer at CTF Illinois from March 2015 to July 2015 and as a Houseperson at Hilton Garden Inn from December 2013 to March 2015, where they were responsible for driving the shuttle and setting up various events. Emily began their career as an Assembler at Tegrant Corporation from June 2012 to December 2012.

Emily Shelton, LCPC, LPC-MHSP, LMHC, CADC, CAGCS, CRSS earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. Emily then pursued their Master's Degree in Substance Abuse/Addiction Counseling at Governors State University, where they studied from 2015 to 2018.
