Kara Somsen Diem has over 15 years of work experience across various marketing and strategy roles. Kara is currently serving as the Vice President of Marketing Strategy at Recruitics, a position they have held since June 2022. In these roles, they managed recruitment media for Fortune 500 companies, developed strategic media plans, negotiated media contracts, and worked on employer branding strategies.

Kara's earlier experience includes working at Academy of Art University as a Media Specialist from January 2012 to December 2012 and as a Marketing Coordinator from November 2009 to January 2012. In these roles, they monitored media deliverables, processed invoices, and analyzed data to shape marketing efforts.

Kara also worked at ProConcepts International as a Marketing Coordinator & Head Copywriter from June 2007 to November 2009. In this role, they supported account management, coordinated events, and performed administrative duties. Additionally, they were responsible for creating corporate and marketing collateral as the Head Copywriter.

Kara started their career as an intern at First Horizon Home Loans in 2006. During their internship, they performed administrative duties and trained new staff members.

Kara Somsen Diem obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration from Saint Mary's College of California, where they studied from 2004 to 2007. In 2005, they briefly enrolled at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid to explore International Business, Economics, and Spanish. Prior to that, Kara attended DePaul University from 2003 to 2004, during which time they were undecided on a major but focused on English, Sociology, and History.
