Wilber Acosta has a strong background in software engineering and platform engineering. Wilber joined Recruitics in 2017 and has held multiple roles within the company. As a Software Engineer, they followed agile Kanban methodology and developed ETL processes using Java, Apache Spark, and Java Spring Framework. Wilber also worked on the development of a user interface supported by an Elasticsearch database and Amazon Kinesis for real-time debugging.
In March 2019, Wilber Acosta was promoted to Lead Software Engineer at Recruitics. In addition to their development work, they served as the scrum master for the team and collaborated with the business to identify and prioritize tasks for sprints. Wilber also project-managed a major re-architecture project, transitioning from Apache Spark to Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, Spring Framework, Grafana, ArgoCD, GitOps, Helm, and Terraform.
Most recently, Wilber Acosta became the Director of Platform Engineering at Recruitics in April 2022. In this role, they lead the platform engineering team and oversees the technical direction and strategy for the company's platform.
Wilber Acosta has pursued their education in the field of Computer Science. Wilber first attended the State University of New York at Plattsburgh from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree. Following this, Wilber Acosta enrolled at the Stevens Institute of Technology from 2012 to 2017, where they completed their Master of Science degree in Computer Science.
