Karina Lugo Cintron

Karina Lugo Cintron, Ph.D., is a highly experienced Senior Process Development Scientist at Recursion, specializing in phenomics cellular assay development for high throughput screens. With a solid background in cellular assay development for high-content screening, Karina has contributed to a multi-functional team that interfaces with data science, biology, automation engineering, and high-throughput screening. Prior experience includes roles as Manager of the Luminex MAGPIX Instrument at the Microtechnology Core at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and several research assistant positions during academic studies, which culminated in a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Karina's research has focused on the intersection of cell biology and bioengineering, particularly in developing microfluidic models and investigating cellular interactions in the tumor microenvironment.
