James Batten

Director, Procurement & Vendor Partnerships at Recycle Track Systems

James Batten's work experience includes roles in various companies. James currently serves as the Director of Procurement & Vendor Partnerships at Recycle Track Systems since October 2021. Prior to this, they were an Instructor in the MBA Program at the University of New Brunswick starting in June 2021.

From August 2017 to February 2021, James worked at Irving Oil as a Senior Manager of Supply Chain Management. Before that, they were a Category Manager in Supply Chain Management at the company from October 2013 to August 2017.

James also has experience at Devon Energy as a Category Manager from November 2011 to October 2013. In this role, they were responsible for upstream drilling & completions categories within supply chain management and achieved significant cost savings through sourcing strategies and partnership agreements.

Before Devon Energy, James worked at Tenaris in Business Development from May 2006 to November 2011. James played a key role in managing client relationships and increasing market share in the oil country tubular goods sector.

Other positions James held include Account Manager at IKON Office Solutions from May 2005 to May 2006, Inside Sales at Aliant from May 2003 to August 2004, and Business Analyst at Xerox from May 2001 to April 2003.

James Batten completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Prince Edward Island, graduating in 1998. After that, from 1999 to 2001, they pursued an MBA in Strategy & Marketing from Dalhousie University.
