Sarah Powell started their work experience in 1988 at UBS, where they worked as an Editor. Sarah then moved on to Goldman Sachs in 1992, also as an Editor. From 1998 to 2000, they held the position of Managing Editor at both DLJ and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. In 2000, they joined Lehman Brothers as the Global Head of the SA team, a role they held until 2008. Sarah then became the Global Co-Head of Supervisory Analysts at Nomura from 2008 to 2010. Following that, they worked at Credit Suisse as an SA/Editor from 2010 to 2023. Currently, since 2023, they have been working at Redburn as a Supervisory Analyst.

Sarah Powell attended Newcastle University from 1982 to 1985, where they earned a BA (Hons) degree in Economics. Prior to their university education, they also attended Guildford High School, although the specific years and degree obtained from this institution are unknown.
