Sarah Hinners

Sarah Hinners is an accomplished professional in the fields of ecology and conservation, currently serving as the Director of Research and Conservation at Red Butte Garden since August 2023. As the Principal of Sarah Jack Hinners Ecological Consulting LLC since June 2019, Sarah has demonstrated expertise in ecological consulting. Sarah has held academic positions, including Associate Professor - Clinical at the University of Utah from July 2022 to July 2023 and Director of the Center for Ecological Planning and Design from July 2017 to July 2023. Additionally, Sarah served as Acting Director of the Ecological Planning Center from June 2013 to July 2022 and as Assistant Professor - Research at the University of Utah from December 2011 to July 2022. Sarah's academic background includes a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Environmental Studies from McGill University.
