George Derrington has extensive experience in financial management, having held various senior positions throughout their career. In 1995, they joined Compass Group North America as a Regional Controller. George then moved to Smurfit-Stone Container (formerly Jefferson Smurfit Corporation) in 1996, where they served as a Controller. In 1997, Derrington joined The Muller Company, starting as a Vice President - Controller and eventually being promoted to Chief Accounting Officer in 2007, and later becoming the Chief Financial Officer in 2009. Currently, since 2021, they are working as the Chief Financial Officer at Red Mountain Group.
George Derrington has a strong educational background in business and finance. In 1997, they attended the USC Marshall School of Business, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Accounting and Finance. Following this, from 1985 to 1990, George pursued their Bachelor's Degree at California State University, Fullerton, majoring in Accounting and Finance. As a foundation for their academic journey, they completed their high school education at Marina High School from 1981 to 1985. Later on, in 2015-2016, George pursued further professional development by obtaining a certification in Executive Leadership from Cornell University.
