The Account Director is responsible for building client relationships and managing a team to develop digital solutions that align strategically with client’s needs. The Account Director keeps abreast of emerging digital platforms and industry trends to proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing clients. With the support of their team, the role will also actively track the financial performance of projects against forecast, maintain profitability and ensure client satisfaction.

  • Responsible for key account planning, business development including strategically evaluating and proposing solutions for client’s business – both new and existing clients

  • Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge of, and be conversant in, each clients’ business – their key issues, competitive situation and industry trends

  • Develop expertise within each emerging digital platform (mobile apps, augmented/virtual reality, medical animation, etc.)

  • Develop trusting relationships and provide strategic counsel to senior level clients bringing value to their business through expert knowledge of digital communications and technology platforms

  • Provide strong leadership in management of projects and the development of pitches and proposals

  • Keep clients up-to-date on all projects and proactively identify solutions to emerging issues, seeking to continually develop a strong client partnership

  • Effectively plan and organize the work of you and your team – handling multiple projects efficiently, effectively and productively

  • Work closely with Account Project Managers to ensure effective client communication and provide oversight and input in all client deliverables Develop client-level forecast on key accounts, monitor and devise plans of action to achieve goals

  • Actively track and manage the financial performance across multiple accounts/projects

  • Provide coaching and mentorship to direct reports and assist them in their professional development and growth

About You

  • University degree, preferably in Business or Science
  • 7+ years of client services experience coupled with excellent healthcare/scientific expertise
  • 5+ years of practical experience with an agency in digital media platforms
  • Experience managing and mentoring of client service professionals
  • Experience identifying and securing new business with existing clients
  • Ability to think strategically, a strong understanding of digital marketing, tactics and strategies
  • A deep understanding and passion for the healthcare industry
  • Candidates possessing a science education/background are preferred
  • Well versed in delivering often-complex digital solutions and through your experience will be able to talk knowledgeably about them
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent and proven track record of building and sustaining strong client relationships and managing a range of digital media projects to a successful conclusion for both client and agency.
  • Ability to travel to clients and attend a variety of client and professional functions
