Auwal Babura has extensive work experience at Red Star Express Plc, where they held various positions over the years. Auwal Babura (FCA/MBA/MIOD) started as an Accountant in 1994 and gradually progressed to become a Credit Controller, Management Accountant, and finally a Group Treasurer. In 2009, they joined the company as a Group Accountant, responsible for group management reports, financials, taxes, and liaising with internal and external auditors. In 2011, they were promoted to Group Head of Internal Control, where they oversaw audits, investigations, and government regulatory compliance. In 2016, they became the Group Executive Director of Finance & Admin, further expanding their responsibilities. Currently, Auwal is serving as the Managing Director/Chief Executive of Red Star Express Plc since April 2022. Alongside their work, they have also pursued further education, obtaining an FCA and an MBA. Auwal's diverse roles within the company demonstrate their expertise in finance, administration, internal control, and leadership.

Auwal Babura has a diverse education history. In 1989, they obtained a BSC in Accounting from Bayero University, Kano. Auwal Babura (FCA/MBA/MIOD) further pursued their academic journey and earned a chartered fellow degree from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in 2005. Later in 2011, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance from Lagos State University. In 2016, Auwal obtained the MIoD degree from the Institute of Directors of Nigeria. In 2017, they pursued a Mini MBA from the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF). Finally, in 2019, they completed a certificate course in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
