Ray Finch

Ray Finch began their work experience in 2002 as a Mathematics Instructor at Highline Community College. From 2004 to 2005, they served as a System Administrator at Equator, overseeing a network of servers and workstations. In 2005, they moved on to become a FileNet/Sovera System Administrator at Davita, managing an imaging system and monitoring system alerts. From 2010 to 2012, they worked as an Integration Engineer at MorphoTrak, installing and administering a State Drivers License system. Starting in 2012, Ray became a Senior Systems Administrator at Avue Technologies Corporation, where they were responsible for architecting and administering a Ruby on Rails web application. From 2015 to 2017, they served as a Senior Systems Engineer I at Marchex, maintaining and administering a hybrid environment of over 2000 servers. Ray then joined zulily as a Senior DevOps Engineer from 2017 to 2019. Ray continued to advance their career at Infoblox, where they worked as a Staff DevOps Engineer from 2019 to 2020. Most recently, they held the position of Principal DevOps Engineer at red violet, starting in 2020 and now at Standvast Fulfillment from 2023.

Ray Finch has a strong educational background in mathematics and applied mathematics. Ray obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mathematics from Portland State University in 1986. Ray then pursued further education and earned a Master of Science (MS) in Mathematics from Portland State University in 1989. Additionally, Ray completed another Master of Science (MS) degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Washington in 1995.

In addition to their academic achievements, Ray Finch has also obtained several certifications in Amazon Web Services (AWS). Ray became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate in June 2016 and an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional in February 2018. More recently, Ray obtained the AWS Certified Security – Specialty certification in June 2020 and the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification in February 2021.
