Tim Chu

Tim Chu has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the field of IT service management and cybersecurity. Most recently, they worked as a Senior Director, Managed Security Services at a cybersecurity company, where they were responsible for the overall delivery of Managed Security Services. Prior to this, Tim held the position of Security Operations Centre Director for the APAC region at another company.

Tim also has a strong background in cybersecurity management, having served as the Cybersecurity Managed Solutions Manager for Australia and New Zealand at Datacom. In this role, they managed a team of over 50 people and provided cybersecurity services to customers. Before that, Tim held the position of Cybersecurity Operations Centre Manager and Operational Delivery Manager - Security at the same company.

Earlier in their career, Tim gained experience in service management and customer support roles. Tim worked as a Service Manager/IT Service Management Consultant at WEX and as a Senior Service Management Consultant at b.Telligent NZ Ltd. Tim also served as the GM of the Client Services Group at Mako Networks, where they managed client service teams and was responsible for team leadership, service delivery, and customer relationship development. Tim has also held managerial positions at Datacom, APN News & Media, and The ECN Group, where they were involved in service desk management, technical support, and customer service operations.

Tim Chu attended Auckland Grammar School from 1996 to 1999. After completing high school, from 2000 to 2002, they studied Engineering at The University of Auckland. In terms of certifications, they obtained the Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL) - V2 in June 2007. Later, in October 2011, they earned the Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL) - V3 and the ICP ICAgile Certified Professional certification in November 2011. Their most recent certification was the ITIL V3 Intermediate Level - Release, Control & Validation (RCV) which they obtained in August 2012.
