Julius Westphal

Since his early studies Julius has been following the startup ecosystem closely. He has always been amazed by the speed small and driven teams operate at and the enormous impact they can have on society and the economy. As an investor Julius is looking for passionate teams with bold visions who have the potential to repeat the pattern of impacting a group of stakeholders in a positive way by addressing current problems and shortcomings in an innovative manner. He believes by empowering such teams, a new momentum of positive change can be catalyzed.

Julius is an operator turned investor. Before joining Redalpine in 2022 he co-founded a VC backed company in the fertility space. “Although there were many positive reactions towards the offering, they failed to find product market fit” Julius says. Having experienced the founder side himself he finds it easy to empathize with founders and loves to share valuable learnings from his experience with teams early on.

Prior to that Julius led Meta’s startup activation program in Germany in which he closely worked together with various fast growing startups and advised them on GTM and growth strategies. Julius holds a BSc in International Business and Management from the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and an MSc in Management from the ESCP Europe.
