Roberto Kabetu

Roberto Kabetu, MBA, CPA, CMA has a diverse and extensive work experience. Roberto is currently serving as the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis at Redberry Restaurants since June 2021. Prior to this role, they worked at Walmart Canada as the Manager of Supply Chain Finance from June 2019 to May 2021 and as the Associate Finance Manager of eCommerce Operations & Logistics from October 2017 to June 2019.

Before their time at Walmart Canada, Roberto worked at EY as the Manager of Valuation & Business Modeling from September 2015 to October 2017. Prior to that, they were employed at Rogers Communications as a Senior Financial Analyst. In this role, they led a newly formed FP&A team and was responsible for financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting functions in the Consumer Business Unit (CBU). Roberto also played a significant role in decision-making by building complex financial models and redesigning reporting and forecasting procedures for a team of 8 analysts.

Before joining Rogers Communications, Roberto worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Workopolis, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, and IBM. At IBM, they held various financial analyst roles, including Cost Financial Analyst and SG&A Financial Analyst Intern. Roberto managed an annual cost budget of $80 million, provided financial guidance and recommendations to executives, prepared financial reports, conducted trend analysis, and identified cost-saving initiatives.

Roberto's career began as an Area Business Manager at NAFT Vending Solutions, where they worked from December 2001 to September 2006. Throughout their career, Roberto has demonstrated expertise in financial planning, analysis, and modeling, as well as strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Roberto Kabetu, MBA, CPA, CMA, received their H.B.Comm degree in Accounting and Financial Management, with an Internship option, from McMaster University in the years 2003-2008. Roberto then pursued their MBA in Management and Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University during 2009-2012. In 2012, Roberto obtained their Certified Management Accountant certification from the Certified Management Accountants of Ontario. In 2013, they obtained their Chartered Professional Accountant certification from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada).
