This expertise is augmented by a talented group of training specialists who build capacity in partner organizations by designing, producing, and conducting training on a wide variety of geospatial topics. These two core business functions are supported by Information Technology staff who design, build, and operate the systems necessary to manage, analyze and disseminate terabyte-scale geospatial datasets. Founded in 1998 to support what is now the USDA Forest Service Geospatial Technology and Applications Center (GTAC), RedCastle Resources Inc. has grown to 70 employees in an uninterrupted record of service providing geospatial information to federal land management agencies and their international partners. Our primary areas of expertise include Land Cover Mapping, Inventory, and Change Monitoring of forested and rangeland landscapes. RedCastle Resources personnel are actively engaged in all aspects of vegetation mapping, and work on projects ranging from nationwide maps of forest characteristics to project-scale maps along narrow riparian corridors. We are experts at using imagery in a sampling mode or as an element of a multi-stage sample with field data. RedCastle Resources has more than 20 years experience developing and providing training, promoting the effective use of remote sensing and GIS for resource management in the USDA Forest Service and international partners and agencies. RedCastle Resources maintains an IT staff to support a wide variety of IT needs including desktop configuration, server architecture and management, and satellite image receiving systems. Additionally, a web and application development staff specializes in creating web sites and applications focused on delivering and and analyzing geospatial information.
