Derek Jones

Derek Jones has a vast work experience in the field of software engineering, starting from their role as a Research Assistant at the Arizona Cancer Center in 1987. Derek then worked as a Software Engineering Specialist at Rincon Research Corporation for almost two decades, until 2010. Derek then joined Amazon as a Senior Software Development Engineer for eight years. In 2018, they moved to Google as a Senior Software Engineer until 2019. Presently, Derek is working at Redfin as a Principal Engineer. Additionally, they had early experience as a Cartoonist at Arizona Daily Wildcat, contributing their creative talents for four and a half years.

Derek Jones attended the University of Arizona from 1985 to 1990, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering. In October 2019, Derek also obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera.
