Jim Balcom has a diverse and extensive work experience. Jim was the President & CEO of Sonigistix (Monsoon) from 1997 to 2001, responsible for the P&L of the consumer electronics product company. Jim also acted as the VP Retail Sales during that time, managing international sales teams and negotiating trade show contracts.

Balcom started their career at Ballard Power Systems in 1993, where they served as the Fuel Cell Manufacturing Manager, overseeing the manufacturing path for fuel cells and implementing cost-cutting measures. Jim also worked as a Consulting Manager at Coopers and Lybrand from 1990 to 1993.

Jim Balcom completed their Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo in the five-year period from 1977 to 1982.
