Lachlan Brown

Lachlan Brown is the current VP of Sales at Redpanda Data. Prior to this, they were the VP of Sales, West at Cockroach Labs from January 2018 to December 2020. Cockroach Labs is the company behind CockroachDB, an open source database headquartered in New York City. CockroachDB is a distributed relational database that is scalable, survivable, and strongly consistent - hence the name. It combines the rich functionality of SQL with the horizontal scalability common to NoSQL offerings, and provides enterprise-grade disaster recovery. The company was founded in 2015 with a mission to Make Data Easy.

Before their time at Cockroach Labs, Lachlan was the Regional Vice President Sales at Mesosphere from January 2015 to December 2018. At Mesosphere, they helped customers create and deploy new services at massive scale using the Mesosphere Data Center Operating System. The company is focused in three areas: allowing services to be deployed and managed instantly and at massive scale using containers (Docker, Rokt...etc) and other frameworks (Spark, Cassandra, Kafka...etc.), creating extreme agility for developers to build new services using CI/CD pipelines by making the platform and deployment process instantaneous, and bringing agility to data analytics and providing a platform to run Internet of Things (Services, Devices, Sensors...whatever) on top of.

Mesosphere DCOS is being built to manage the largest enterprise deployments in the world and they are already in production at some of the largest internet properties in the world.

Lachlan Brown completed a Bachelor of Computing at Western Sydney University, majoring in Computer Science. Lachlan also undertook studies at Oakhill College.

Their manager is Alexander Gallego, CEO & Founder. They are on a team with Vivek Saraswat - VP, Product, David Wang - VP, Engineering, and Roko Kruze - VP, Customer Success.
