Towfiqa Yasmeen M.Eng

Towfiqa Yasmeen M.Eng has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Towfiqa started their career as a Webmaster/Summer Student at Erskine Dredge & Associates Architects Inc., where they worked as an administrative assistant and managed the company's website. Towfiqa then joined Mektek Solutions as a Consultant/Web Designer, responsible for client consultation and web design.

Moving forward, Yasmeen worked at the Department of National Defense as a Junior Software Developer, followed by a role as a Software Engineer at Cognos. In this position, they developed enterprise-level web applications using agile methodologies and demonstrated expertise in coding, testing, and implementing software.

Yasmeen then joined IBM as a Sales Engineer before transitioning into the role of Product Consultant at Raven Bay Services. At Raven Bay Services, they provided consultations to clients from various industries and successfully delivered reporting applications within budget and deadlines.

After gaining valuable experience, they rejoined IBM as a Product Manager for the Cognos Cloud division. Towfiqa led cross-functional teams and focused on revenue generation and reducing churn. Towfiqa spearheaded the development of fully-managed and self-serve SaaS solutions, expanded compliance posture with data privacy regulations, and significantly improved the LTV/CAC ratio.

Following IBM, Yasmeen joined Newcomp Analytics as a Product Consultant, where they managed clients from different industries and collaborated with cross-functional teams to identify key metrics for business growth. Their ability to resolve roadblocks and ensure customer success demonstrated their technical skills and out-of-the-box thinking.

Most recently, Yasmeen worked at Cockroach Labs as a Senior Product Manager, responsible for the underlying platform of the CockroachDB Cloud service. Towfiqa focused on cluster orchestration on k8s, cloud infrastructure, and site reliability engineering. During their tenure, they achieved uptime SLA improvements for the cloud service.

Currently, Yasmeen is a Senior Product Manager at Redpanda Data, where they continue to contribute their expertise in product management.

Towfiqa Yasmeen M.Eng began their education journey in 2001, attending Carleton University where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Systems Engineering. Towfiqa successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2005. Towfiqa furthered their education at Carleton University and obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Engineering Management, which lasted from 2007 to 2010. In 2011, they attended the IBM Global Sales School. The degree obtained from this institution is not specified.
