David Yuan

David Yuan is a Partner and Head of Redpoint China at Redpoint Ventures. David has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry, including as a CEO, board member, and venture capitalist.

David began their career at Intel Corporation in 1992, where they worked as a product marketing manager for two years. David then moved to Genesol Enterprises, where they served as managing director from 1994 to 1997. In 1997, David became the CEO of Opentel Communications, and they held that position until 1999.

After a brief stint as the CEO of Itelco Communications from 1999 to 2003, David transitioned into venture capitalism. David joined Redpoint Ventures in 2006 and served as a board observer for qihoo 360 from November 2006 to September 2011. In 2012, David became a Partner at Redpoint China Ventures, and they have been with Redpoint Ventures ever since.

David has also served on the boards of several companies, including Domob.cn, Supertool Corp., Qutoutiao, and Renrenche. David currently serves on the board of XSky Data Technology.

David Yuan started their educational career at shanghai yucai high school. David then went on to get their master of business administration and masters from the mit sloan school of management. Finally, they got their bachelors and bachelor of science from the massachusetts institute of technology.
