Leonid Kontsevich

Co-Founder at Redrock Biometrics, Inc.

Leonid Kontsevich has worked in a variety of roles since 1991. Leonid began their career as a Scientist at the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute, where they studied and modeled functions of the human visual system. Leonid then moved to CogniSign, LLC in 2005, where they were the Founder and Chief Science Officer, developing a state-of-the-art image search engine used in stock photography and retail fields. In 2008, they became the Senior Scientist and Director of R&D at InPronto, Inc., managing two international developer teams for production software in the dentistry field. Leonid then moved to Cimbal in 2009, where they were the VP of R&D, developing mobile bar code scanning technology and supervising design and development of browser-based services. In 2012, they became a Senior Researcher at Leap Motion, and in 2015 they co-founded Redrock Biometrics, Inc., where they developed a groundbreaking palm-based biometric verification/identification technology, PalmID. This technology is used in payments, access control, corporate security, and other applications. Finally, in 2011, they founded KaChing, a mobile coupon solution that allows shoppers to receive and redeem coupons through a mobile app.

Leonid Kontsevich obtained their Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT) and their M.Sc. in Computer Science from the National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET).
