Barry McCarthy

Barry McCarthy is a seasoned professional in the mortgage underwriting industry, currently serving as a Senior Jumbo Underwriter at Redwood Trust, Inc. since September 2023. Previously, Barry held various positions at New American Funding, including VP, Non-Conforming Underwriting Manager, and Jumbo Credit Policy Manager, from November 2021 to January 2023. With extensive experience, Barry also managed Jumbo and Non-Agency Underwriting at American Pacific Mortgage from June 2015 to November 2021, and served as Sr. Underwriter III at RPM Mortgage, Inc. from January 2015 to June 2015. Barry's career began at Guarantee Mortgage as a Senior Underwriter from October 2010 to July 2014 and included an Underwriting Manager role at RESCAP from 2000 to 2008. Barry is an alumnus of California State University, Chico.
