Derek Baker

Derek Baker is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in restructuring and insolvency. Currently serving as a Partner at Reed Smith LLP since January 2000, Derek specializes in first-chair trial representation for a diverse clientele, including debtors, secured creditors, and creditors’ committees, across state and federal court litigation. Prior to this role, Derek was an Associate in the Reorganization and Financial Services Section at Duane Morris LLP from September 1998 to January 2000, focusing on restructuring, workouts, and bankruptcies in the mid-Atlantic region. Derek holds a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from the University of Dayton School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Government from Commonwealth University-Lock Haven.
