Brian Beardsall has held various roles in a number of organizations since 2015. In 2015, they were a Forestry Assistant at North Nova Forest Owners Co-Operative Ltd. In 2016, they were a Farm Assistant at Obsthof Kirn/Philaroma. In 2017, they were a Summer Intern at Thinkers Lodge National Historic Site and an Academic Mentor at Bennett House Residence- Mount Allison University. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Research Assistant at Mount Allison University, where they used bioinformatics tools to investigate differential gene expression in lobster and designed hardware and software tools to examine the effect of temperature on the heart rate of various crab species. In 2020, they also held a role as a Research Intern at Mount Allison University, where they created and delivered R programming and data management tutorials to undergraduate researchers and developed an automated bioinformatics workflow to quantify ROS gene duplication in marine phytoplankton. Finally, in 2021, they became a Machine Learning Engineer and Data Science Intern at ReelData AI.

Brian Beardsall completed their Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Applied Physics from Mount Allison University in 2020. Brian then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at Dalhousie University, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
