Matt Greenberg

CTO at Reforge

Matt Greenberg is currently the CTO at Reforge. Prior to that, they were the VP of Engineering at Credit Karma from May 2015 to November 2019. Matt joined Credit Karma when it was just over 200 employees and helped grow it to over 1000 during their time there.

Matt started the growth team and culture at Credit Karma, which more than doubled DAU year over year for two straight years. Matt also led the rebuild of Credit Karma's core services out of their PHP monolith and into scala, including efforts around their credit stack, notifications, user management, fraud, and offer management. Additionally, they led engineering for international expansion at Credit Karma, including building their first overseas offices in Europe.

Currently, they are leading engineering for strategic product initiatives at Reforge that have yet to be announced or launched. Matt has also founded a program management organization and built and designed a process for managing engineering teams in different stages, from when they did feature teams to building platform teams to managing multiple verticals and company OKRs.

Matt has crushed recruiting and hired 100s of engineers. Matt has built recruiting training, sourced, interviewed, trained hiring managers, and partnered heavily with recruiting. A great leader's job is to build and retain the best possible team, something that Matt Greenberg has proven they are more than capable of doing.

Matt Greenberg received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

They work with Helen Sims - Head of Product, Buford Taylor - Head of Engineering, and Carlo Parsons - Program Director. Matt Greenberg reports to Brian Balfour, Founder & CEO.
