Ligon Duncan

John E. Richards Professor Of Systematic And Historical Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary

Ligon Duncan serves as the John E. Richards Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary since June 2012, where responsibilities include teaching various theological disciplines. With a ministry background in the Presbyterian Church in America since 1985, Ligon Duncan's leadership roles have included President of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood from 2011 to 2014 and President of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, Inc. from 2004 to 2012. Previously, Ligon Duncan was the Senior Minister at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, MS, from 1996 to 2013, and held several academic positions at Reformed Theological Seminary starting in 1990, advancing from Assistant Professor to Associate and then John E. Richards Professor. Ligon Duncan's academic credentials include a PhD in Theology from The University of Edinburgh and multiple degrees from Covenant Theological Seminary and Furman University.
