Roger Swartz has over 30 years of diverse work experience in the public health and international development sectors. Roger has held various leadership positions, including Managing Director at RefugePoint, where they oversaw all programming and administrative functions of the organization. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Director at the Positive Deviance Initiative, where they built infrastructure and developed partnerships to support the dissemination of the Positive Deviance approach. Roger also has experience as a Bureau Director at the Boston Public Health Commission, where they managed a diverse staff and led organizational change during periods of growth and reduction. Roger has also worked as a Senior Program Advisor at John Snow, Inc. (JSI), managing global public health projects in multiple countries. Additionally, Roger has held leadership roles in other organizations such as the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, South Cove Community Health Center, American Diabetes Association, World Vision International, and Peace Corps. Roger Swartz earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Saginaw Valley State University, where they attended from 1978 to 1982. Roger furthered their education at the University of Connecticut, graduating with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree between 1986 and 1988.
