Maia Baskerville

Maia Baskerville, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Associate at Yale University, where since August 2017, extensive research has been conducted, including the design of a novel LC-MS approach for tracking bacterial metabolism. Experience as a Teaching Fellow has involved leading courses such as Exploring the Microbial World and Microbiology, aimed at enhancing student understanding and experimental design in microbiology. Additionally, Maia has contributed to departmental equity discussions as an organizer for a book club focused on racial inequities in STEM. Previous editorial roles at the Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine, including Deputy Editor, involved managing a team of graduate students and coordinating the peer-review process. Research experience includes positions as a Research Fellow at State University of New York Upstate Medical University and as a Research Assistant at Cornell University. Maia holds a PhD in Microbial Pathogenesis from Yale University and a BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Wells College.
