Steve Szalay

Steve Szalay has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Steve most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer at Regional & City Airports (RCA) starting in November 2023. Prior to that, they were the Ops Director at Southampton International Airport Limited from June 2020 to September 2023. Before that, they served as a board member at VisitAberdeenshire from January 2019 to June 2020. Steve also held the position of Managing Director at Aberdeen International Airport from November 2018 to June 2020.

Earlier in their career, Steve worked as the Director of Ground Operations at Jet2.com from November 2016 to September 2018. Prior to that, they were the Vice-President of Ground Services at dnata from April 2012 to October 2016. Steve started their career in the British Army, where they served as a Lieutenant Colonel from September 1991 to April 2012.

Steve Szalay earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mathematics, Statistics, and Computing - 2:1 from the University of South Wales from 1987 to 1991. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Simulation and Modelling at Cranfield University from 2001 to 2003. Lastly, they completed a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Defence Studies at King's College London from 2003 to 2004.
