John Shriver

John Shriver has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2022, they joined Regrow Ag as the Director of Data Science. Prior to that, from 2018 to 2021, they worked at Descartes Labs, starting as a Data Scientist and later becoming the Team Lead for Platform Consulting, where they built and led a team providing data science consulting services. From 2018 to 2018, they were a Senior Data Scientist at Premise Data.

Before that, John worked at Planetary Resources, Inc. from 2016 to 2018 as a Senior Data Scientist, leading the remote sensing algorithm development efforts. At FarmLogs from 2014 to 2016, they served as the Lead Data Scientist, creating data and decision support tools for farmers. John also has experience as a Statistician at the University of Michigan from 2013 to 2014, where they developed patient risk models and spatially explicit models of health outcomes.

John's early career includes a Remote Sensing Internship at Michigan Tech Research Institute in 2012, where they developed algorithms for land cover classification and forest fire burn scar detection. John was also a Program Director at Princeton AlumniCorps from 2008 to 2011.

Outside of their professional roles, John has volunteered in various positions from 2003 to 2007. Prior to their career in the tech industry, they served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Petty Officer Second Class from 2002 to 2008.

John Shriver's education history includes a degree in Master of Science (M.S.) in Environmental Informatics from the University of Michigan, which they obtained from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they pursued a degree in Islamic Studies at the University of Washington from 2002 to 2006. Earlier, John attended Centralia Community College, where they earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Physics from 2000 to 2002.
