EVP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Reich & Tang Deposit Solutions

Ms. Baum serves as Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary of Reich & Tang. She is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s legal functions. Ms. Baum is an experienced leader in the financial services industry and provides the firm with trusted and strategic legal advice and guidance.

Prior to joining R&T, Ms. Baum was Head of Legal, TAA at Wolters Kluwer where she led the global Legal team for the Wolters Kluwer’s Tax & Accounting division. Previously, Ms. Baum spent over 10 years in legal leadership roles at M&T Bank. In her last position, she led the Corporate Legal Division where she served as a member of the Disclosures Committee and oversaw M&T Bank’s corporate governance, public disclosures, M&A transactions (including the $7.7 Billion purchase of People’s United Financial Inc.) and bank supervisory and regulatory matters. In addition, while at M&T Bank, Ms. Baum led the Wealth & Institutional Services Division of Wilmington Trust and M&T Bank team of attorneys, and also the Enterprise-Wide Banking Division team of attorneys responsible for supporting Privacy, Cybersecurity, Second Line Risk & Compliance, Third Party Risk Management, Employment & Internal Investigations. Ms. Baum was chosen to participate in the 2019 Executive Leadership Program.

Prior to M&T Bank, Ms. Baum was a corporate and mergers & acquisitions attorney, and worked at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York City and Double Rock Corporation, which operated the FDIC-insured cash sweep programs now operated by Reich & Tang.

Ms. Baum received a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts degree from Murdoch University in Perth Australia and a Masters of Law degree from the University of Toronto Law School in Canada. Ms. Baum also received the Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) from the ABA, Certified Information Privacy Officer (CIPP/US) from the IAPP and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment (from the Securities Institute of Australia).
