Alexander Bickers

Alexander Bickers is an experienced animal care professional currently serving as a Zoo Keeper on the Carnivore/Primate Team at the Reid Park Zoological Society since October 2021. This role includes providing animal husbandry, maintaining relationships with the public, participating in fundraising, and actively engaging in safety and emergency response training. Previously, Alexander held supervisory and animal care roles at Primarily Primates Inc., where oversight of a team and management of animal welfare for over 300 animals were key responsibilities. Other experience includes animal care, veterinary assistance, and public outreach at various organizations, including the San Antonio Zoo and the Animal Rescue League Shelter & Wildlife Center. Alexander holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from Penn State University.
