Sara Vernon Sterman has a diverse work experience in the field of finance and education. Sara Vernon began their career as a Teacher/Program Director at Teach For America from August 1990 to June 1995. Sara Vernon then joined The Reinvestment Fund as an Intern from June 1998 to June 1999. Sara joined Reinvestment Fund in June 1999, starting off as a Loan Officer until June 2009. After that, they held various roles including EVP, Community Investment & Capital Markets from June 2009 to November 2011, Chief Lending Officer from November 2011 to December 2014, and VP, Strategic Investments from December 2014 to January 2022. Currently, they are serving as the Chief Program Officer at Reinvestment Fund.
Sara Vernon Sterman completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, from 1986 to 1990. Sara Vernon then pursued a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Pennsylvania, which they completed from 1995 to 1997. Following that, they attended The Wharton School from 1997 to 1999, where they obtained their MBA degree in Real Estate Finance.
