Relational organizing is the simple, proven concept that people talking to their friends and family is more effective than strangers talking to strangers. In an age when trust in institutions is low, the messenger is as (if not more!) important as the message. Relational organizing isn't new, but it's become increasingly critical. Over the past few cycles, high-profile campaigns leveraged relational tactics to win the Iowa caucus, elect Joe Biden, and flip the Senate. Now, targeted, goals-driven relational programs that train people at scale to engage, persuade, and mobilize their networks need to be a core part of any organizing strategy.
