Michael Ashcroft

Michael Ashcroft has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and artificial intelligence. Michael is currently working as a Lead Data Scientist at RELEX Solutions since 2022. Prior to joining RELEX Solutions, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Formulate from 2020 to 2022, until the company merged with RELEX Solutions. Michael also has experience working as a Lecturer at Uppsala University from 2011 to 2020, where they taught courses on Artificial Intelligence and Statistical Machine Learning at Masters level. Michael also served as a Guest Researcher at Uppsala University from 2011 to 2013. Before that, Michael worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Inatas AB from 2012 to 2020, where they managed data science projects for European businesses and government agencies. Michael was also involved in setting up AI/machine learning teams for venture capital rounds in Stockholm, London, and San Francisco. Michael started their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher under the Endeavor Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Australian Government, where they conducted research on mathematical modeling of rational reasoning and discussion with Fudan University in Shanghai. Their research led to the commercialization of an advanced Bayesian Statistical Modeling tool suite and code library.

Michael Ashcroft obtained a Bachelor's degree (honours) in Philosophy from The Australian National University in 2005. Michael then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at the University of Melbourne from 2005 to 2009.
