Natarajan Mohan

Senior Research Scientist & Team Lead: Cultivation-operations at Reliance Industries

Natarajan Mohan has a diverse work experience in various research and teaching roles. Natarajan started their career as a Research Associate at Government Arts College, Chennai, where they worked as a Guest Lecturer in the Department of Plant Biology & Plant Biotechnology from September 2007 to October 2008. Natarajan then joined RKMV College, Vivekananda Institute of Algal Technology (VIAT) as a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) student in Botany - Algal Biotechnology from 2005 to 2006. From 2007 to 2009, Natarajan worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Madras. During their time there, they also received a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) under the UGC-sponsored Meritorious Fellowship program from April 2010 to October 2012. Natarajan pursued their Ph.D. in Botany-Algology at the University of Madras from December 2008 to October 2013. Natarajan then joined Aban Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, Biotechnology division as a Research Trainee, working on the pilot-scale cultivation of marine microalgae for bio-energy from August 2011 to August 2012. Most recently, Natarajan worked at Reliance Industries Limited. Natarajan started as a Research Scientist in February 2013 and progressed to Senior Research Scientist in October 2019. As a Senior Research Scientist, they led a team and contributed significantly to the company's research.

Natarajan Mohan has a strong educational background in Botany. Natarajan obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Algal Biotechnology from the University of Madras, where they studied from 2008 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) degree in Algal Biotechnology from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College (Autonomous) between 2005 and 2006. Natarajan also holds a Master's degree (M.Sc) in Botany/Plant Biology, which they earned from the same college from 2003 to 2005. Their undergraduate education includes a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc) in Botany/Plant Biology from Government Arts College for Men, which they completed from 2000 to 2003.
