Wee Shiong Tan

Wee Shiong Tan is a seasoned professional in the manufacturing and engineering sector, currently serving as the Division Head, Module, Senior Vice President at Reliance Industries Limited since April 2023, overseeing the startup and operational readiness of a 20GW module manufacturing plant. Prior to this, Tan held key leadership roles at Canadian Solar Inc. from May 2019 to February 2023, including Deputy General Manager for both Module and Cell Business Units, where responsibilities encompassed manufacturing operations, cost improvement, and expansion projects. Tan's extensive experience also includes nearly eleven years at REC, culminating in directorship roles focused on project leadership, manufacturing, and equipment engineering. Earlier career highlights feature a position as Principal Engineer at United Microelectronics Corporation from 2001 to 2009. Tan obtained a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Queensland University of Technology between 1999 and 2001.
