Scott Barros

Scott Barros has a diverse work experience in the field of toxicology and pathology. Scott currently holds the position of VP, Toxicology & Pathology at ReNAgade Therapeutics since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Sage Therapeutics as a Senior Director, Head of Toxicology, starting in August 2018. Scott also held the role of Director, Nonclinical Development at Sage Therapeutics from March 2016.

Before joining Sage Therapeutics, Scott worked at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals as a Director, Investigative Toxicology from June 2008 to February 2016. Scott also served as a Senior Scientist - Toxicology at Archemix Corp. from October 2007 to July 2008. Additionally, they worked as a Principal Scientist - Toxicology at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from September 2006 to September 2007.

Prior to their industry experience, Scott was involved in academic research. Scott worked as a Scientist - Investigative Toxicology at Millennium Pharmaceuticals from 2004 to 2006. Scott also served as a Post-Doctoral Trainee at NIEHS from 2004 to 2005. Scott began their career as a Graduate Student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1999 to 2003.

Scott Barros received their Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology & Toxicology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they studied from 1991 to 1996. Following this, they pursued further education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where they completed their PhD in Toxicology from 1999 to 2003.
