Erik Lundberg

Advisory Board Member at Renaissance Venture Capital

Erik Lundberg is the Chief Investment Officer at University of Michigan, responsible for directing the University’s more than $14 billion of investment programs, which includes the 9th largest endowment of an institution of higher learning.

Since joining the University as its first Chief Investment Officer in the fall of 1999, Mr. Lundberg has established the University’s Investment Office as a highly regarded institutional investor and has seen the endowment grow from being the 17th largest endowment when he joined to being 9th in size today with a value of $12 billion. Mr. Lundberg received Institutional Investor Magazine’s Award for Excellence in Investment Management for Endowments in 2007, was recognized as the endowment CIO of the decade, and has been listed among the top 25 CIOs globally by CIO magazine three years running.

Mr. Lundberg has been a trusted advisor to many institutions, including the Skillman Foundation in Detroit, Father Flanagan’s Fund for Needy Children, The Investment Fund for Foundations (TIFF), the State of Michigan’s Pension Funds, Capital International (EMGF), the Detroit Renaissance Venture Capital Fund, Okabena Investment Services, Agility, and Alternative Investment Management.

Mr. Lundberg is a CFA charterholder.
