Josef Kastner

CEO of European Region at ReneSola

Josef Kastner has been CEO of the European Region at ReneSola since 2014. Prior to that, they were Head of Business Unit Renewable Energy and CEO of Alpine Green Energia at Alpine-Energie from 2004 to 2014. From 1999 to 2004, Kastner was Head of Engineering + Construction for Upper Austria and Salzburg at Postimmobilien. Kastner has experience in leading and managing divisions for wind energy, photovoltaic energy, and biomass energy. Josef is also responsible for country strategy and local partner relations. Kastner has successfully installed and maintained wind turbines for Vestas, Nordex, and Repower (Senvion) across Europe, totaling over 800MW of energy production. Additionally, they have overseen the development and construction of 150MW of photovoltaic projects in Germany, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Bulgaria. In total, Kastner has been responsible for the development of 400MW of renewable energy projects in Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria.

Josef Kastner received a Diplom-Ingenieurin (Dipl.Ing.), or Diplom Ingenieur, degree in civil engineering with a specialization in economics from the Technische Universität Wien, or Vienna University of Technology. Prior to that, they studied at the Technische Universität Graz, or Graz University of Technology, where they received a Bauingenieur, or civil engineering, degree.
