Omar Hamdan has a diverse range of work experience in the renewable energy industry. Omar started their career as a Design and Technical Support Engineer at SEMECO, where they gained practical experience in electrical installation and wiring. Omar then worked as an Estimation and Design Engineer at Dash Control Systems, where they prepared price and technical quotations and developed designs for electrical panels.
Omar went on to work at Kingston University as a Researcher, focusing on studying hourly electricity generation and conducting research in solar, wind, and biomass energy. During this time, they also developed skills in project management and business resources management.
Omar later joined 3E, Efficient Energy Enterprise as a Business Development Engineer, securing major projects for on-site power generation and creating new services for energy and water auditing. Omar also prepared proposals and technical and financial studies for co-generation and district cooling plants.
At ECO Engineering and Energy Solutions, Omar served as an Energy & Green Building Engineer, designing and installing rooftop solar PV systems and leading energy-saving programs on lighting, HVAC, and pumping systems. Omar also worked on LEED certification projects, mainly for hospitals.
Omar then joined Perfect Source for Renewable Energy as an Energy Consultant, where they designed and managed the installation of solar PV systems. Omar conducted site surveys, visits, and project feasibility studies, contributing to the company's success.
At Solarcor Energy Inc., Omar worked as a Solar Energy Specialist, designing and supervising the installation of SPV systems. Omar gained firsthand experience in designing rooftop-, ground-mount, and off-grid systems, as well as net metering and rebate/grant applications.
Omar's experience in testing and commissioning came from their role as a Testing and Commissioning Specialist at SNL Techlink. Omar reviewed contract requirements, produced commissioning plans and guides, and led testing and commissioning activities for telecommunication systems.
Most recently, Omar worked at RES, first as a Project Electrical Supervisor and then as a Battery Storage Project Commissioning Manager. In these roles, they led the electrical installation, testing, and commissioning of Lithium-ion BESSs in Canada and the USA. Omar also led commissioning teams in creating safety plans, energization procedures, LOTO procedures, and commissioning plans.
Throughout their career, Omar has demonstrated a strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and a commitment to implementing sustainable solutions.

From 2005 to 2010, Omar attended Tafilah Technical University, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
In 2011, Omar enrolled at Kingston University and completed a Master's Degree in Renewable Energy Engineering between 2011 and 2013.
In 2014, they obtained a certification in Financial Modelling from EduPristine Inc.
In 2015, Omar received a LEED GA certification from the US Green Building Council - St. Louis Regional Chapter.
