Tanya Jackson has a diverse range of work experience spanning several industries and roles. Tanya began their career as an Environmental Health Officer at Central Coast Council in 1992. Tanya then worked as a Program Manager at the Litter & Recycling Research Association, where they represented beer and soft drink manufacturers and their packaging suppliers. Following this, Tanya served as the Sales and Marketing Manager at SULO MGB LIMITED, the largest manufacturer of mobile garbage bins in Australia.

In 2000, Tanya joined Marsh & McLennan Companies as a Principal Consultant, specializing in risk management and insurance services for businesses and organizations. Tanya then transitioned to APC Environmental Management in 2005, where they held the position of Senior Consultant. Here, Tanya secured new business opportunities and provided waste management consulting services to various government and industry clients.

In 2010, Tanya became the Principal Consultant at KMH Environmental Pty Ltd, leading the business development and delivery of waste management services. Tanya worked closely with local and international clients and oversaw the implementation of a waste management strategy for a mining company in Papua New Guinea.

Tanya also worked as an independent consultant, starting in 2013, focusing on risk management and waste management. Tanya provided consulting services to various organizations, including the Office of Professional Standards Council and the International Association of Public Participation.

From 2015, Tanya worked at RES, where they held multiple roles. Tanya initially served as the Communications and Company Services Manager before becoming an Asset Manager. Tanya'smost recent role at RES was as the Head of Sustainability, Communications, and Engagement. During their time at RES, Tanya contributed to sustainability initiatives and led communication and engagement efforts.

Tanya's work experience also includes a position as the Chairman of the Board at Seaside Scavenge, a non-profit organization focused on ocean conservation through beach clean-up events. Tanya'srole involved providing strategic leadership and governance.

Tanya Jackson has a Diploma in Communications Management (Public Relations/Marketing) from the University of Technology Sydney. In addition to their academic qualifications, Tanya has obtained the certification of "Executive Ready" from Women & Leadership Australia (WLA) in November 2021.
