Shelby Jiang currently serves as the Associate Dean for Residential Commons at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a position held since July 2019, where responsibilities include assisting the Dean of Student Living and Learning, managing COVID-19 isolation facilities, and serving as a hearing officer. Previously, Shelby served as the Assistant Dean for Residential Commons, overseeing a student staff of 25 and providing support across four complexes. Prior experience includes serving as Residence Director at Fort Lewis College, focusing on community development and diversity training, and earlier roles as an Undergraduate Research Assistant and Resident Assistant at Aurora University, culminating in a Doctor of Education degree from Marymount University, alongside a Master’s in Higher Education Administration and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Aurora University.
