Gary Marshall has extensive work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Gary started their career as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School, studying mechanisms of non-ribosomal peptide biosynthesis. Gary then moved on to Merck, where they worked as a Biology Program Team Lead, leading several programs in lead optimization and early clinical development. During their time at Merck, they also served as a group leader for cell biology and biochemistry assay development, biomarker identification, and combination studies. Gary managed a team of scientists and collaborated with academic and clinical institutions. After Merck, they joined FORMA Therapeutics, Inc. as a Principal Scientist, where they led various discovery projects and managed multi-functional teams of scientists. Gary also led the biology efforts for the Hit Identification portfolio. Gary'smost recent position was at Repare Therapeutics, where they held roles such as Director of Translational Science and Senior Director of Project Leadership. In these roles, they were responsible for project leadership, scientific strategy, and coordination of activities for IND filing. Gary also contributed to the discovery and validation of patient selection and pharmacodynamic biomarkers.
Gary Marshall completed their Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at McMaster University from 1989 to 1993. Gary further pursued their education at the same university, completing their Ph.D. in Biochemistry from 1993 to 1999.
