Sebastian Heer has a diverse work experience in the scientific field. Sebastian started their career at ETH Zurich, where they worked as a Scientific Assistant and later as a Postdoctoral researcher. During this time, they conducted research on the interplay between cellular antioxidant pathways and immune responses. Sebastian also presented their findings and taught and supervised students on various projects.
Sebastian then interned at the SPOG Schweizerische Pädiatrische Onkologie Gruppe, where they gained experience in regulatory affairs for clinical trials.
Sebastian later joined Novartis, where they held multiple roles. Sebastian worked as a Postdoc in the Analytical Science & Technology department, focusing on quality assurance and control. Sebastian also served as a QC Scientist in the Bioanalytics Cell & Gene Therapy division.
Sebastian's most recent position is as a Senior Scientist at Repertoire Immune Medicines, where they currently work.
Sebastian Heer's education history starts with their time at Kantonsschule Sargans, from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained their Matura degree with a focus on Biology and Chemistry. Sebastian then attended ETH Zürich, starting in 2004 and completing a Bachelor of Science (BSc ETH Biology) in Biology from 2004 to 2007. Following this, they pursued further education at ETH Zürich and obtained their Master of Science (MSc ETH Biology) degree in Microbiology and Immunology from 2008 to 2009. Sebastian continued their studies at ETH Zürich, completing their PhD / Dr. Sc. ETH Zurich in Immunology from 2010 to 2015.
