Cristela Guerra

Cristela Guerra currently serves as the Regional Manager of the South/Southwest for Report for America, a role held since July 2025. Previously, Cristela worked as a Senior Arts & Culture Reporter at WBUR from December 2018 to July 2025, and was a Nieman Fellow at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard during the 2023-2024 academic year. Additional experience includes serving as a Staff Writer at Boston Globe Media from February 2015 to December 2018, as well as a Staff Writer at The News-Press from September 2008 to February 2015. Earlier career highlights include freelance writing and radio production, a summer internship at The Palm Beach Post, and managing editor at The Beacon. Cristela began journalism training as a student journalist at The New York Times Student Journalism Institute in January 2007. Cristela holds a Bachelor of Science in journalism from Florida International University.
