Maiju Loukola currently serves as the responsible leader of the 'City as Space of Rules and Dreaming' research project at Koneen Säätiö (Kone Foundation) from August 2021 to the present and is a university lecturer at the Doctoral Programme at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Helsinki since January 2021. Additionally, Maiju Loukola has been a researcher at the Academy of Finland since 2017, contributing to the "Floating Peripheries – mediating the sense of place" artistic research project. Previous positions include postdoctoral researcher at Aalto University (March 2015 - January 2021), curator for various sound-based exhibitions including the WEATHER STATION at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space (January 2014 - June 2015), and researcher in the Figures of Touch multidisciplinary project (2009-2012). Maiju Loukola holds a Doctor of Arts degree from Aalto University, School of Art, Design and Architecture.
