Tiina Petänen has extensive experience in science counseling and research funding, currently serving as Counsellor of Science and Senior Science Counsel at the Research Council of Finland since June 2003, where responsibilities include developing the research application process and enhancing customer service. Prior to this role, Tiina worked as a Senior Science Adviser, focusing on areas such as strategic research, societal impact, and researchers' mobility. Tiina's research background includes serving as a researcher in vaccination development at the National Public Health Institute of Finland from January 2000 to June 2003. Tiina holds a PhD in General Microbiology and Ecotoxicology from the University of Helsinki, a Ph.Lic. in Ecotoxicology from the University of Jyväskylä, and an MSc in Biology from the University of Eastern Finland.
