Vittorio Fortino

Vittorio Fortino is an accomplished academic and researcher specializing in Health Science Bioinformatics and Big Data Analytics, currently serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Eastern Finland since February 2018, where Vittorio also held the position of Assistant Professor. Additionally, Vittorio has been an Academy Research Fellow leading the Biomedical Informatics Research Group at the Academy of Finland since September 2020. Previous experience includes roles as a Senior Researcher at the University of Tampere and University of Helsinki, focusing on machine learning and artificial intelligence in biological data analysis, as well as a Senior Researcher at the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health concentrating on OMICs data analysis. Vittorio's academic journey includes a PhD in Bioinformatics from Università degli Studi di Salerno, complemented by a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, both awarded cum laude.
